#THE_YEAR_OF_REDEEMING_TIME. “Dear Brother, Don’t marry her if she lacks these 6 things.” (Adapted from Apostle Joshua Selman’s teachings)

1.God fearing/Genuinely born again.

If she is not God fearing, if she has no reverence of God, don’t marry her. I just didn’t say Born again because it’s one of the most abused phrase in this 21st century. One can be born again but has no fear of God. This is a very dangerous person. Now, let me educate you a bit. Now, don’t just go around asking them, are you born again? When I used to do door to door Evangelism in campus (hostel), I realized something. That almost everyone/ every lady I talked to told me that they are born again. This sometimes came as a shock because I could see most of them walking around the campus and through their living demonstrating that they don’t have any idea of what to be born again means. Keen scrutiny of their lives would show you that they are not right with God. Have you wondered why Paul spoke this scripture to Timothy?

“Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.” — 2 Timothy 3:5 (KJV)

Sincerely speaking there is this category of people in the body of Christ. I don’t say this to embarrass someone but it’s a wake up call! This is to all ladies and men. We confess what we aren’t ready to sustain, God have mercy on us. You say you are born again but no reflection in yo Our life must resemble Christ if we claim to really know him and that we are born again. Yes it may be true you are born again, but can I tell from your life. Do I see Christ glorified in you? If not,there is a question mark. So brothers, don’t ask them whether they are born again or not, you will miss it. Just take time and watch her life.

“Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.” Mth 7:20 (KJV)

2.Submissiveness.

Submission is the ability to bring your strengths under control. (Sisters, don’t marry a man you know you won’t submit to). Submission is not weakness. Remember she has to submit to you for the rest of her life, if she gives a red flag of constantly raising her voice over you, run brother. Otherwise your hell will start here on Earth. A lady who cannot submit to you at all times (convenient or not). Run away Bro. It is very easy to know if a lady can submit to you or not. Personally in the circle of my friends, I am able to clearly detect those who won’t be submissive. Ladies reading this, I pray for you. May God help you to be submissive otherwise, you will loose something important. Anyone who masters the art of submission is not weak, in fact they are very strong because they know how to tame their strength. Sister, if this post offends you, go down on your knees and pray. There is a problem.

3. Teachability

She must be teachable. There are some ladies who teach everybody, they claim to know everything and would not want to learn anything new, I call them the Gamaliels. my brother, DON’T MARRY HER. There are some ladies that no man can sit them down and talk to them even if he is a pastor. That’s is pure pride, if you marry this one, she will embarrass you some day. Any lady who is not willing to sit down and be taught and learn something new is a no go zone. Brothers be warned! I repeat don’t marry this kind of a lady.

4.Sacrificial and hospitable.

A lady who cannot inconvenience herself because of you and the general growth! forget about that one. This is a domonstration of a mother figure in her. If she is not hospitable, don’t marry her please brother.

5.Common faith.

Vet her faith and determine the compatibility in faith.

2Cor.6.14 “…[do not make mismated alliances with them or come under a different yoke with them, _inconsistent with your faith] I have seen some people fight over denomination thing! To avoid such fights, make sure you marry a lady that her faith is consistent to yours and what you are used to. This is important to both men and ladies.

6. Physically attractive.

Here is when the Beauty thing comes in. It should be in this order of priority. Ladies, Don’t carry a shirt that is twice your size. Just be modest in dressing. Modest does note mean oversize. Yes your mother gave it to you but must you tell us,must everybody know it was a gift, reduce it. The brothers are not idiots. Brothers look for what looks like your future.Brothers look for what looks like your future. If she lacks these 6 things, it doesn’t matter whether she is from the church or not. Don’t just be obsessed with the church going thing. It’s more than that Sir. May God help us.

EYE OPENER WORD

1Pet.1.15 But just as he who called you is holy so be holy in all you do; (NIV)

Glory to God, when God says it, I believe it! There is this category of people who seem wise enough to the point of challenging the Scriptures, this they either do it by giving contrary statement that directly undermines the scripture or even claim to observe the Scriptures and yet openly leading otherwise.

2Tim.3.5 They will act as if they are religious but they will reject the power that could make them godly You must stay away from people like that. (NLT)

I am quite sure you have heard of statements like, “No one can be holy enough.” Sir, madam, come here and explain to me your understanding of this verse. The Bible is very clear that we can reach a level of perfection that is desired by God, a level of Holiness that is equal to that of God. No amount of excuse is going to challenge what God said. You better agree with the word of God. Yes, a state where one can stand before God without a sense of guilt and condemnation. Understand that there is no contradiction in the word of God.

In the earthly army Troup, when the commander in chief has given a command, it is a Mandatory duty of every soldier to hearken to it. No questions allowed, whether you feel like it or not, whether you feel it or not.

It is a command for us to be holy as even He(God) is holy. When it is a command, you have no business arguing around. Whether you like it or not, you must execute that command, standards aren’t going to be lowered for anybody.

Another statement that people like using as an excuse, The commandments are difficult hard grievous to keep. Again, who told you? That should be the voice of the devil speaking in you! It is only the devil that is known to contradict the scripture, you remember in Genesis 3 what caused the fall of man? It was as a result of man hearkening to the very deception of Satan. Just in case you are forgetting, let me take you back.

“Gen.3.4 And the serpent said unto the woman Ye shall not surely die” (KJV)

What had God said?

Go to Gen.2.17

“But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.”
— Genesis 2:17 (KJV)

Yes, are you with me? The last part of this verse, God made it clear that man would die if he would eat of the tree of knowledge of good and evil. Satan offers a direct contradiction to what God says. Have you heard this voice before, a conviction against the word of God? It’s the voice of the adversary.

I amplify the voice of God over the voice of the devil over your life right now in the name of Jesus Christ.

I tell you the commandments of God are not grievous either. Don’t allow deception from the accuser of the believers.

I love the New Living Translation. Hear what it says, Loving God means keeping his commandments and really that isn’t difficult. (NLT)

Dear friend, choose today to hear, believe and obey God’s word,His commands, His word is true and Amen, agree with His word! It is not burdensome as some count.

All in all, God has given us grace to help us obey Him. He has given us the Holy Spirit too, who is our ultimate helper.

Are you afraid of falling? Dear one, it is not within your power to keep and sustain yourself from falling, surrender it all to God.

He is the only one who can keep you from falling.

Jude.1.24

PART 1

THE YEAR OF REDEEMING TIME.

• If you meet an intelligent challenge, use the divine intelligence.

If you encounter a circumstance you don’t understand pray in the language you don’t understand.

1Cor.14.2 For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries. (KJV).

See amplified :

1Cor.14.2 For one who speaks in an [unknown] tongue speaks not to men but to God, for no one understands or catches his meaning, because in the [Holy] Spirit he utters secret truths and hidden things [not obvious to the understanding].(AMP)

• Let us take a look at this verse 1Cor.14.2 For one who speaks in an [unknown] tongue speaks not to men but to God,
• There is a difference between speaking to God and speaking to men. When speaking to God, men have no need of understanding what you are telling God. Why? Because the Bible has already made it clear that , no man will understand. Check that;

“for no one understands or catches his meaning,”
Now, by virtue that no man understands does not mean that it has no meaning!

• Tongues is a coded language in the spirit that carries mysteries.It only makes sense in the Spiritual realm. Let’s have a look in the next part,

“because in the [Holy] Spirit he utters secret truths and hidden things [not obvious to the understanding]. (AMP)

• Glory to God! Now remember my introductory statement. There is a difference between speaking to God and speaking to man.

• Thus, when speaking to God, there is no need for interpretation! How can you interpret to God? The master of all languages, earthly and heavenly?

• Now, when a man speaks to God in tongues, he is edified/build up!

• Praying in tongues is a spiritual exercise that stretches our spiritual muscles and expands our capacity to host the dimensions of God. Notice what the scripture says in Jude 20.

Wait on before we read Jude 20,

Somebody is about to misinterpret me on the above statement. Notice that I did not say, there is no need to interpret the tongues, are you with me? I said this, let me repeat for your sake, “There is no need to interpret if you are speaking to God.” That’s if you have to channel it to God, you don’t need to worry over interpretation. God is a omniscient and He grasps that prayer language. Keep on edifying yourself as you trust God for the gift of interpretation for the sake of edifying the church also.

However, if you are speaking to men, that’s giving a word that concerns them in other tongues,you need an interpretation so that they may understand and also be edified. This is what we now call Prophecy.

Tongues + Interpretation of tongues = Prophecy.

Prophecy edifies the church.

Are you following?

1. When a man speaks to God in tongues, he is edified/build up!
2. When man speaks in other tongues concerning men and he interprets,men are edified. The church is edified.
3. Both personal edification and church edification are important.

Now let’s read Jude 1.20 But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,(KJV)

Yes, when Jude tells us to build up ourselves by praying in the Holy Ghost, he simply means praying in other tongues.

• Apostle Paul makes it clear that when we pray in unknown tongue, our spirit prays but our understanding is unfruitful. In other words, our mind cannot grasp what our spirit is saying unless you receive the gift of interpretation.

• Paul says that he would pray in the spirit and he would also pray in understanding. Which was and is still more relevant and necessary even today.I wish to exhaustively discuss on this but time fail me.

• When you pray in other tongues, you do
  pray in the spirit.

1Cor.14.14 For if I pray in an [unknown] tongue, my spirit [by the Holy Spirit within me] prays, but my mind is unproductive [it bears no fruit and helps nobody]. (AMP)

• This is proof enough that tongues cannot be reasoned out or thought out! It is purely the spirit. That’s why when you were a non believer, you could not pray in other tongues.

• It is amazing that most people who criticize tongue speaking do not speak in tongues.

Those who at the first place insist on the need for interpretation of tongues and yet they can’t speak in tongues are hypocrites.This works very contrary to the dynamics of faith! How can you exercise faith over interpretation of tongues when in the first place you haven’t exercised faith in speaking in tongues?

• In the Acts of the Apostles, we notice that people spoke in tongues only after the Holy Spirit had come upon them.

• Let’s read Acts the second chapter and the the fourth verses.

Acts 2 (KJV)

⁴ And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

• There is no evidence of people praying in other tongues in the Scriptures without the presence of the Holy Spirit.

• This verse reveals to us another aspect,,, follow keenly, let’s re-read the last part of verses 4. “…as the Spirit gave them utterance.”

• Did you get it? The people did the speaking while the Holy Spirit gave them utterance.(words).

• One of the dictionary definition of the word utterance is The ability to speak. That though they did the speaking, they received that very ability from the Holy Spirit.

• The New Living Translation renders it this way,

Acts.2.4 And everyone present was filled with the Holy Spirit and began speaking in other languages, as the Holy Spirit gave them this ability. (NLT)

• If the Holy Spirit gave those who spoke the ability to speak, we can definately understand that the very words spoken proceeded from the Spirit for without the Spirit, no one can have the words to speak in other tongues. The Amplified Version helps us to understand exactly what happens.

Acts.2.4 And they were all filled (diffused throughout their souls) with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other (different, foreign) languages (tongues), as the Spirit kept giving them clear and loud expression [in each tongue in appropriate words]. (AMP)

• Glory to God, as the Holy Spirit did what? – kept giving them clear loud expression, in appropriate words.

• Is God helping you? I now hope you understand what Apostle Paul was saying in his later to Romans. He says in the 8th chapter of Romans and verses number 26 that we do not know how to pray as we ought to, but luckily enough, we have the helper, He is the Holy Spirit.

Rom.8.26 So too the [Holy] Spirit comes to our aid and bears us up in our weakness; for we do not know what prayer to offer nor how to offer it worthily as we ought, _but the Spirit Himself goes to meet our supplication and pleads in our behalf with unspeakable yearnings and groanings too deep for utterance. (AMP)

• Hallelujah, he prays for us. Yes, He does this through us when we allow Him. We allow Him by praying in the spirit. (In other tongues).

• The Holy Spirit cannot make intercession for us if we don’t allow him to. Therefore the ability to decide whether we want to pray in the spirit or in understanding is totally under our control.

• You need to be very keen here, when I speak of spirit and Spirit.(Note the use of lower case and upper case respectively). I am referring to ;

1. (spirit) as Our own spirit/human spirit.
2. (Spirit) as The Holy Spirit of God.

RE-CHARGE WORD

WANT OR NEED?

Text : Rom.8.27 And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God. (KJV)

Def: A want is what man think he deserves. It is the will of man for himself.

A need is what God thinks man deserves.
Need is the will of God for man.

Therefore, you have to choose between your will and God’s will. The things you want most are not important, it matters what you need, and not what you want.
Learn to draw the line.

The greatest need for an non believer is Salvation and not miracles, healings, money.

The greatest need of a Saved Person is transformation and not breakthroughs.

The greatest need of a Transformed person is Empowerment .

The greatest need of humanity is the gospel.

God in His wisdom scans within the horizon of the heart and mind and grants each according to their need and not their want!

If God turns down your wish/want, he always has a better idea for you.

You Know what you want but God knows what you need.

God is not a scammer, He gives each man what he/she deserves. What they need. God is a rewarder! Each man is given according to his deeds.If you understand this, you will save yourselves from so many worries.

Prayer is not just about being vibrant, roaring like a lion, calling yourself a prayer warrior! It is about motives! God keeps an eye beyond your tears.
Tears don’t move God, faith does, motive does.

Jas.4.3 And even when you do ask, you don’t get it because your whole motive is wrong–you want only what will give you pleasure. (NLT)

As long as Hannah prayed for God to give her a child so that she would be saved from shame of barrenness, God didn’t give her a child!
In other words, it was not reason enough for God to give her a child.

The day that she changed her motive, intention, they day that she forfeited her will/want and allowed the will of God (need) to prevail, is the day God gave her a child.

1Sam.1.11 And she made this vow: “O LORD Almighty, if you will look down upon my sorrow and answer my prayer and give me a son, then I will give him back to you. He will be yours for his entire lifetime, and as a sign that he has been dedicated to the LORD, his hair will never be cut.” (NLT)

Praise Jesus!!!
I choose to allow the will of God in my life than forcing my own will to produce results.

Note that a will of man too produces results, but the result is as counterfeit as the will. It is like using the back door. The results won’t last.

God loves you.

Give Him a chance to give you what you need.

Do you know that FEAR & WORRY causes more problem than it solves? I have not heard of anyone before who through worry, solved problems! I now understand that the antidote of “FEAR” is “FAITH”. Yes, it is not “courage” not at all! Faith is!

A double minded man is a man who is not sure with anything! He is a man in constant worry, doubt and fear!

Fear is a counter weapon used by the devil against the children of God! The scripture is very clear as from whence the spirit of fear does not proceed from! By this, we can easily understand that since fear is not from God, it is from the devil!

“For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.”

Yes, the Spirit of God working in us is the Spirit of Adoption by which we were granted a sonship previlege in John 1:12.
